Game Design

1e jaar In the first year of Game Design & Development, you will develop your portfolio by working on an entertainment game and an educational game. Throughout these design and development projects, you will learn the basics of game design, game art, and game development. Moreover, you will learn how to combine research and intercultural cooperation with succesful project proposals and productions.

2e jaar After the first year, complex projects within the programme, will combine the knowledge and skills of game designers, game artists, and game development students. Therefore, a large part of your training will take place in role-specific workshops. This allows game designers to explore topics like interactive storytelling and player experience, while game artists study 3D modelling and animation, and developers learn to use C# and Unity3D for various artificial intelligence projects.

3e jaar In the third year, you will complete an internship with a game studio in the Netherlands or abroad that suits your learning objectives. The other half of the third year offers many opportunities through minors, provided by Hanze UAS, or by one of our partner universities which are accessible through our Study Abroad system.

4e jaar You will complete the programme once you have done a graduation assignment, in which you will address a complex case and design a game-based solution by using design research in combination with gathered skills and knowledge. By the end of your programme, you will have professional experience, a great set of personal skills, a diploma as well as a great portfolio, hence all the requirements to enter the games industry with.
