This programme offers three unique specialisations:

(A) Applied Food safety
(B) Food Law and Regulatory Affairs
(C) Supply Chain Safety

Students with a background in Law, supply chain management and or a logistical background and an interest in food related topics are therefore also welcome to apply for this programme!  

Where other programmes in this field may focus solely on the technological aspects of food safety or focus on the interaction of food safety and food quality, this programme

at Wageningen University with its three unique specialisations offers a more integrated, multidisciplinary approach to Food Safety. Alumni find jobs in research, consultancy, as 

a food safety officer, regulatory affairs officer, PhD student, Microbiologist, QA manager, etcetera.

Beroepsperspectief / arbeidsmarkt

The programme is aimed to provide the market with graduates that can work as a food safety specialist in the food industry, governmental organisations, product associations or federations, food inspection services or similar, research institutes or specialized law agencies. The actual position depends highly on the interest of the graduate, as well as the specialisation within the programme (microbiology, toxicology, law, allergies).
Graduates from Specialisation A (Applied Food Safety) are more employed in industry, universities and research institutes, whereas graduates of Specialisation B (Food Safety Law) are more employed in the legal departments (regulatory affairs) in the food industry, the food inspection services or in governmental organisations. Specialisation C (Supply Chain Safety) is mainly industry oriented.
