Sea level rise, floods, droughts and other climate related disasters are increasingly occurring due to climate change. Cities are highly vulnerable as they concentrate large number of populations and assets. What concrete actions can cities undertake in different sectors? Participants will apply theory and best practices to actual group work. Local Climate Action Plans will be prepared by participants, including risk and vulnerability assessment, adaptation and mitigation assessment along with concrete strategies and financial arrangements. The course will look at a range of innovative plans and actions in different sectors ranging from water and food security (adaptation) to energy and transport (mitigation).
