specialisatie Gender Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in Management

GEM focuses on the challenges related to managing gender equality, diversity and inclusion in organisations, designing interventions and giving content to the social responsibility of organisations.

Organisations today have to deal with an increasingly heterogeneous workforce, due to developments such as migration, emancipation, ageing, and international cooperation. The inclusion of men and women, older and younger colleagues, people from different ethnic backgrounds, religions, various educational backgrounds and different sexual orientations has become an issue for employees and managers in modern organisations. To attract and retain a diverse workforce, to realize equal opportunities for all and to create an inclusive organisation in which people's needs for uniqueness and belongingness are met, are key challenges for organisations. Valuing all talent and using everyone's full potential has beneficial effects for individuals, organisations and society.

specialisatie

The master specialisation in Business Analysis and Modeling focuses on responsible strategic decision making from an analytical and a social perspective, by applying modeling and group facilitation.

The program is specifically designed for students who are interested in initiating strategic change in organisations, supported by the use of stakeholder participation and computer simulation models. Thus, it offers a unique combination of model building and group facilitation skills. You will learn everything you need for starting a consultancy career in facilitated, strategic modeling (mostly, using system dynamics). In the specialisation, you will have classes together with students of the European Master in System Dynamics (EMSD), providing a highly international context. Graduates typically work in consultancies, planning and strategic departments, or in academia.

The Master's in Business Analysis and Modeling is a specialisation of the Master's programme in Business Administration.

specialisatie Innovation and Entrepreneurship

This specialisation provides the skills and knowledge that enables problem solvers and creative thinkers to understand and challenge the difficulties that entrepreneurs face in their businesses.

Innovation management and entrepreneurship are combined in this specialisation. Both are vital for companies, whether a small start-up, large multinational or SME, to help bring novel products and services to the market, or to reinvent the business model of an existing industry. An entrepreneurial approach is also key in established firms that regularly develop innovative products. It relies on an entrepreneurial mindset and behaviour to incubate innovations. This specialisation takes a broad, multidisciplinary view, examining the interactions of firms within the context of their business ecosystems. The Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Context course is at the core of the specialisation. It aims to provide a better understanding of entrepreneurial innovators who operate from their constructed identity and capture external opportunities. In other courses, you'll learn about the processes to identify ideas for innovation, manage innovation and business development projects, develop a business plan or analyse business models and strategic scenarios.
The Master's in Innovation and Entrepreneurship is a specialisation of the Master's programme in Business Administration.

specialisatie International Business

International Management focuses on the contemporary issues that multinational companies face in today's globalised world, with an emphasis on the importance of culture, diversity and communication.

The basic tasks of international management are understanding one's host country environment, being sensitive to cross-cultural differences and being able to manage operations separated by the barriers of distance, language, time and culture. The IM programme takes the development of the Multinational companies in a globalizing environment as its core focus.

We offer the following courses: Corporate Strategy, Organizations and Society, Brand Management, Corporate Global Communication and International Human Resource Management.

We train our students to become creative, flexible, responsible, and critical thinkers and provide them with the knowledge and the skills to solve complex problems relevant to managers in an international environment.

The IM programme prepares students for a position as an International Manager or an International Professional in international business related areas.

specialisatie Organisational Design and Development

Organisational Design & Development recognises that an organisation is a part of society. Therefore students strive to understand how to design an organisation beneficial to itself and to society.

In this Master's, you'll be taught the integrate interplay between design and development. You'll become a flexible leader who knows how to get people involved and who understands that plans need to be adjusted to deal with unforeseen bumps along the way.
The programme takes corporate social responsibility as its starting point: how organisations can operate efficiently while never losing sight of the people involved. Customers, personnel, local residents, related governmental organisations, but also the organisation's future plans and current reputation (i.e. risk management) are all part of that. Corporate social responsibility is a moral and ethical issue, but also a strategic one of managing reputational risks and creating commitment among employees and investors. The specialisation builds on the tradition of socio-technical system design that aims to jointly optimise both the social and the technical aspects of an organisation. You'll explore the possibilities of organisational development and the barriers that may arise. Put simply, you'll learn not just what needs to be changed, but also how this can best be done.
