The Master's programme in Economics is a one-year programme (60 EC). It comprises of state-of-the-art programmes that will make you familiar with recent academic and practical developments in Economics.

We offer seven Master's specialisations in Economics. When choosing a specialisation it's important to realise that each specialisation may lead to very different future prospects. Each with its own unique challenges and charm. Do you want to immerse yourself in the nitty-gritty of a company's finances? Or would you prefer to understand financial markets and perhaps be the one that discovers how they can be tamed? Or are you more interested in the economies of developing countries that offer great challenges but also surprising potential?

The academic rigour is guaranteed by a dense, well-structured programme, and the knowledge base of our professors. All professors in the Master's programme publish in international journals, are involved in academic and societal debates, and present their research results at scientific conferences all over the world. It is our ambition to present you with state-of-the-art knowledge, embedded in a research-based teaching programme.

Waarom aan de Radboud University Nijmegen?

Radboud University challenges you to look at Economics differently and to discover that within all specialisations this field is much more than money, markets and regulations. Economists also examine consumers', businesses' and governmental financial behaviour and decision-making. Because their reasoning is not always rational, it's important to have a clear understanding of thought processes.
We include aspects of sociology and psychology in our programme, and we look at our field from a cultural, legal and even philosophical perspective. Having an eye for all these facets will give you a much better basis to tackle the complex economic issues in today's fast-changing globalising world than when you just focus on numbers and methods. Simply put, Radboud University's Master's programme in Economics will put you ahead of the game.

You will learn to go beyond the surface of daily news and to disentangle deeper global structures of economic growth and the distribution of wealth and power that underlie today's governance problems. We challenge you to not only understand and explain 'the world', but to view and assess it from the perspectives of different stakeholders, while understanding the social and economic structures and institutions enabling or hindering them in pursuing their objectives.

International Business: Economics. In this specialisation you are taught to answer questions such as: What are the consequences of the rise of emerging economies, such as China and India, for the structures and strategies of multinationals? How does the success of a cross border merger or acquisition depend on differences in institutions and cultures between host and parent countries? And what are the effects of trade agreements on the (location) strategies of multinationals?
