Marketing is much more than simply selling products or services. It's also about creating value for customers and other stakeholders. And these other stakeholders aren't just shareholders or other players that have a financial interest. Employees, local residents near factories, environmental groups and public administrators are also stakeholders gaining a stronger say. Although the bottom line is still about profit, both people and planet have become major issues when it comes to responsible perspective on marketing.

You will learn how to build and manage customer relationships and how these relationships will help in key marketing activities such as branding, product management and service innovation.

What's the impact of the marketing strategy on organisational performance? How can customers be gotten involved in product development? What is needed to develop strong customer-brand relationships? This is just a small sample of questions you'll gain the answer to.

The Master's in Marketing is a specialisation of the Master's programme in Business Administration.

Waarom aan de Radboud University Nijmegen?

The key to this specialisation is relationship management. You'll come to understand that more than a sound product is needed. Top-quality services can also strengthen consumer relation through trust, commitment and loyalty. All this need to be part of marketing strategies and plans which you will learn how to make.
You will also gain needed knowledge in social and psychological processes. You'll use this and your knowledge of scientific methodology to extract the perception of the consumer out of marketing research data and bring it into campaigns and plans.
You will become up-to-date with the latest developments and innovations in the field. Our specialisation therefore includes topics as customer engagement, digital marketing and brand communities .
You'll come to understand how marketing relates to other business disciplines such as sales, human relation management, product development, distribution, communication and service quality.
Through your choice in electives you can also determine in which related area you want to have more in-depth knowledge in, such as culture, communication or for instance strategy or human relations.

opbouwTopics such as customer value, customer relationships, and market orientation are addressed in the Marketing Management course while the Buying Behaviour course explains the buying and decision making of customers. The development and marketing of new products and services is tackled in the Product Management course while the Brand Management course focuses on how to manage brands. The programme also trains you in several advanced (multivariate) research methods.

The Marketing specialisation's goal is for students to gain knowledge of relevant marketing theories and insights and to use them as an academic or market researcher, manager or consultant. At the same time after completing the programme you will be able to develop your own balanced and concise opinions about marketing problems and know how to solve them using specific marketing theories. Expertise on brands management and brand equity together with product management decision will be delivered.

'The training I received at Radboud University has been very important to my academic development'

My academic skills were developed at Radboud University, particularly my ability to conduct research independently. When I studied in China for my Bachelor's, there was not much focus on writing papers and reading academic articles. The study was solely based on the textbooks and practicing by answering questions. They did not assign enough independent projects to students. Therefore, the academic training I received at Radboud University has been very important to my academic development.
