​Hanze University of Applied Sciences, Groningen (Hanze UAS) is the centre for energy-related studies in The Netherlands. As a participant in the Energy Academy Europe (EAE), a programme focusing on entrepreneurial knowledge and skills was created as part of the bachelor degree programme of Industrial Engineering and Management.

You will learn how to formulate a strategy for an international company in the field of renewable energy. You will apply that strategy when setting up a production facility abroad as part of the corporation.

The first part of the programme will focus on internal and external analyses of a company in renewable energy. The external analysis focuses on specific foreign countries. The case that you will be working with is based on an existing company in the field of energy. In the second part, you will draw up a business plan explaining how a chosen strategy can be implemented on an international level, while taking various company activities into account.

Exchange students need to have a good level of English, comparable to IELTS 6.0, TOEFL 550 or CEFRL B2.
Certificate students need to give proof of English proficiency: IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL 550.

vooropleiding
This programme is open to, in particular:

  • students from technology management or industrial management programmes;
  • students from engineering programmes who are interested in developing their managerial and entrepreneurial skills;
  • students from business programmes who are interested in developing their entrepreneurial skills in an industrial environment.

Depending on the length of the Bachelor programme at the home institution, students need to have completed 3 to 5 semesters (minimum of 90 ECTS credits) at undergraduate level in one of the above disciplines. Students need to have basic knowledge and understanding of business and technology.
