opbouwThe International Business and Management Studies part-time programme has a duration of four years. The programme is entirely taught in English by a dedicated team of lecturers, and takes place in the evenings. The programmes gives you an in-depth awareness of how to manage or set up an international company in today’s global marketplace. You will follow modules like Accounting, Law, Human Resource Management, and Marketing. Curious about the other modules and projects?
1e jaar You will follow eight modules, such as Principles of Economics, Business English and Accounting. You will create and deliver an individual self-reflection report comprising of all the modules you followed in year 1, and along with your team, design and present a business plan.

2e jaar Similar to the first year, you will follow eight evening courses such as Cross-Cultural Analysis, Management Accounting and European Law. Together with your group, you will write a mock thesis on the company of one of your group members. Additionally you will work on a year-long project on International Expansion, including a business simulation.
3e jaar This year is to widen your horizon while specialising in real time business related problems, for example through a half-year minor. The minor broadens the scope of your knowledge and let you tailor your course according to your personal preferences and future ambitions.
4e jaar In the final year you will take your final eight modules and complete your studies by writing a graduation paper for the company in which you are employed. The final eight modules consist of Corporate Finance, International Economics & Business, and Strategic Human Resource Management, among others.

We expect you to earn a total of 240 study credits (EC) over the course of four years. Classes are held two evenings per week. One academic year involves 42 weeks of class lectures and work group sessions per year.

Instead of following an elective at the International Business School, you could choose to go on a Global Exchange with one of our 100 partner universities worldwide. You can also work for a company abroad for your internship.

Professional field

Once graduated at the Amsterdam School of International Business, you may start your career at a small or large company - in either the Netherlands or abroad - operating in the international market. You could join an international bank, market research firm, advertising agency or other organisation in the business-services industry. Alternatively, you may choose to set up your own business.

The part-time International Business and Management Studies programme, prepares graduates for a broad spectrum of entry-level jobs in international business all over the world. The majority of alumni start off in marketing, sales, international trade, accounting and finance, and customer services.
