						The IB 3 year programme is designed for students with a higher secondary school education (Dutch vwo, International Baccalaureate or international equivalent). Besides learning about key business functions such as Marketing, Finance, Operations and HR, you will also work on your professional skills, including intercultural sensitivity, information management and communication skills. To deepen your cultural awareness and broaden your international horizon you will spend a full year abroad that includes a semester at a partner university and an international work placement. This programme is a fast track, thus requiring ambition and a strong commitment to self-study. By the end of the three-year programme, you will have achieved the same degree as students from the four-year track. From the second year onwards, you will follow the same programme as the four-year bachelor. The International Business School at Hanze UAS was the first of its kind to be based at a university of applied sciences in the Netherlands and has over 30 years of experience. The IB 3 year programme offers students the opportunity to obtain their Bachelor of Business Administration within just three years. Moreover, the programme offers a full year abroad, and the opportunity to gain international work experience at two companies.

What sets the International Business three-year programme apart from the four-year track is that it is designed for students with a higher secondary school education, such as the Dutch vwo level, International Baccalaureate or an international equivalent. The International Business School has more than 100 partner schools worldwide. In this programme at Hanze students will encounter a truly international environment with an expert staff from over 20 different nationalities.

opbouwEach year consists of two study semesters and each semester is divided into two ten-week periods. The first year of the IB 3 year programme is tailored-made, bringing together students with similar academic backgrounds and abilities. It prepares students for the full second year abroad: study semester and international placement. The second and third years of the IB 3 year programme are the same as the third and fourth years of the IB 4 year programme.

1e jaar The first year introduces you to the principal areas of business in preparation for the year abroad. These areas include Marketing & Sales, Finance & Accounting, Supply Chain Management and HRM. You will experience how these areas are interrelated through Business Labs and integrated cases. The Business Labs are simulation environments in which you work in groups in a business-like set up. You will work on personal development and professional related competencies in Global Citizenship modules.

2e jaar One of the greatest opportunities at IBS is the year abroad. During your second year you will spend a semester studying at an IBS partner university and another semester doing a business placement at a company abroad.

The International Marketing minor includes a variety of topics relating to consumer behaviour, international marketing management and integrated marketing communication.

This minor invites students to examine the problems that arise when marketing internationally and moving a company abroad. For example, during this minor students prepare international marketing plans and feasibility studies, on which they do presentations. Cultures, nationality, the political environment and economics all have a distinct impact on business decisions. We will explore various aspects of these specific cultures within the minor. As a result, students learn how to effectively and successfully deal with cultural differences. Graduates with a graduation minor in International Marketing start work as (trainee) managers in international manufacturing or trading companies. Among the job opportunities available to graduates are positions in the fields of export management, international product management, international marketing management, sales management and international advertising. Some of our graduates are Marketing and Communication Managers, Sales Managers, Business Developers and Market Analysts.

The International Management graduation minor provides you with the theoretical tools and practical experience to confidently start an international career in the field of management.

International companies need employees who can successfully work in an international business environment in this ever-changing world. They need people who can work with different cultures, speak the main business languages professionally and who are able to initiate development. International Management graduates pursue management careers in international companies, for example in business development management, management consulting and plant/project management. Some of our IB graduates work as Project Managers, HRM specialists and Plant Managers.

The International Finance and Accounting minor prepares you for work in today's global business environment.

You will also practice effective critical thinking, problem-solving and teamwork, develop your interpersonal skills while working with different cultures and, of course, learn the main business languages so that you can communicate professionally. These are essential competences to confidently begin an international career in International Finance and Accounting! Graduates with this specialisation start work as (trainee) managers in international manufacturing or trading companies. afstudeerrichting International Strategy and Business Development

The International Strategy and Business Development graduation minor sets students on the path to becoming successful young professionals in an international environment.

The experience gained can be applied in SMEs and large multinational organisations or by a self employed entrepreneurs. The graduation minor utilises important practical case studies, looking at business activities and developments within the EU economy and its interface with the global economic arena.

This study was designed to meet the new demands of a dynamically changing workplace and current environmental developments. It is based on the policies of the Dutch Ministry of Education, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the head of the employers association (VNO-NCW). It is also a response to media reports on the opportunities presented by enhanced cross-border business communication and has been developed in collaboration with a diverse group of Dutch and German enterprises from northern Netherlands, northern Germany and Scandinavia.

During the third year, you spend a full semester studying at one of our many partner universities around the world. Non-Dutch students have the possibility to stay in the Netherlands and follow a minor at Hanze UAS. The other semester is spent working in an internationally oriented company or organisation outside your home country.

IBS-U

The IBS-U is a non-profit student organisation, which was founded in 2007. The organisation provides recreation and entertainment opportunities for IBS students.
IBS-U has grown at a rapid pace and in 2009 was recognised as an official part of the university. With an annual membership of over 400 students, IBS-U is able to arrange a variety of social events that take place from September to June. Moreover, the IBS-U is responsible for the afternoon and evening programme during the Introduction Week for new students. This brings people together and helps new students settle in quickly.
