During this exchange programme you will gain knowledge about sensor technology and how this can be integrated into the internet of things to create smart(er) systems. In the process you will learn various ways to analyse data by using statistics, computer vision and artificial intelligence. You will join the relevant classes of our standard Sensor Technology Bachelor's programme. You will also participate in a project related to the internet of things and you will work on the solution of a problem of an external client.
By following this exchange programme, students who are interested in the Master Smart Systems Engineering can get an introduction to the world of smart systems and an insight into what to expect during the Master's programme.
Lectures take place at Hanze UAS, location Assen, which is approximately 20 minutes from Groningen by train. Students must be prepared to either find/accept accommodation in Assen, or be aware of additional costs of daily travel from Groningen to Assen.

Exchange students need to have a good level of English, comparable to IELTS 6.0, TOEFL 550 or CEFRL B2.
Certificate students need to give proof of English proficiency: IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL 550.

Exchange students
Depending on the length of the bachelor programme at the primary institution, students need to have obtained 90 to 150 ECTS credits at undergraduate level in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, ICT, Bioinformatics or similar programme.
Certificate students
Students need to have completed 3 to 5 study semesters (90 to 150 ECTS credits) at undergraduate level in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, ICT, Bioinformatics or similar programme.
