Health professionals play an important role in preventing, treating and curing disease and in promoting health at the individual and societal levels. It is essential to ensure that those who train healthcare professionals create effective educational programmes that result in high quality health services.
The Master of Health Professions Education (MHPE) teaches you the knowledge and skills relevant for a career in innovative health professions education and research. The modular curriculum covers advanced study of learning and instruction methods, curriculum development and assessment. It is primarily distance based: you spend a maximum of three short periods in Maastricht. Since the programme began in 1992, more than 500 Maastricht MHPE alumni have become leaders of innovation in medical and health sciences education. This is a two-year part-time programme taught in English.
