You will work in small groups on your own period or field of interest under the guidance of prominent scholars. Moreover, you will work together closely with students from the other HLCS-research master's specialisations: Historical Studies, and Art and Visual culture. In this way, your own specialisation stands in a robust framework of theoretical and methodological training with disciplinary and interdisciplinary levels. Great importance is attached to debates on recent scientific developments and on the research ideas of individual students. A tutor will help you to make your personal choices and to design the ideal programme tailored to your interests.

In order to get admission to this Master's you'll need a Bachelor's degree in Literary Studies or a related area such as Cultural Studies, Liberal Arts, Classical, Dutch, Spanish, French, English, German, Arabic, American Studies or any other language.

Your average grade during the second and third years of your BA studies has to have been at least a 7.5 and your Bachelor's thesis had to have received a grade of at least 8.0.
