						How can we encourage healthy behaviour or prevent criminal activity? How do people process information? And what makes people trust technology? For many of today’s societal challenges, understanding human thinking and behaviour is essential. In this Master’s, you will explore various psychological perspectives to understand and influence behaviour. You will learn how to combine theory and hands-on practice to tackle complex issues—both now and in the future.

You will specialise in one of five unique tracks and develop your own expertise in areas such as educational, technical or clinical psychology, social safety or mental health. One track prepares you to become a psychologist, while another paves the way for a role as advisor, policy maker or researcher—in government, healthcare, education, industry or the commercial sector.

Human Factors & Engineering Psychology

Educational Psychology

How do people learn? In this specialisation, you will dive into how our brains process information and why everyone learns in their own way, so you can create education that truly suits everyone.

Positive Clinical Psychology & Technology

Want to become a psychologist in mental healthcare? This specialisation teaches you how to enhance mental health and well-being in a digital world – using the latest technological innovations.

Conflict, Risk & Safety

Why do people commit crimes? How do civilians perceive and estimate risks of, for example, flooding, fire or a disease? What is the best way to deal with social conflicts and safety incidents? And how can technology contribute to this? The specialisation in Conflict, Risk & Safety teaches you all about threats to citizens’ physical, psychological, and social safety and will help you to develop interventions to counter these.

Health Psychology & Technology

How can you help people live healthier and cope with (long-term) illness – with the help of technology? In this specialisation, you’ll explore the connection between health, behaviour, and innovation.

Mathematics and English knowledge must be high-school level, compared to Dutch vwo-certificate. Non-Dutch students must demonstrate sufficient fluency in the Dutch language as our Master programme is only given in Dutch! The level should be NT2, programme 2 (level 5) - highest level available.
