Media, Culture & Society offers students key tools to examine and understand the complex and changing roles of the media in our personal, political, and cultural lives.
Are you interested in the ever-changing media environment and the ways in which media are shaped by and affect our personal and social lives? How do media transform the relations between the private and the public, the global and the local, citizens and consumers, the media user and the producer? Would you like to explore these questions? The master specialisation Media, Culture & Society offers you the opportunity to do so, in a truly international classroom within one of Europe's most diverse and multicultural cities.
Students will acquire state of the art knowledge about production, distribution, and the reception of on- and off-line media and their impact on society. They will be equipped to analyse complex social and cultural process related to the fast-changing media environment. And students will join a highly international, small-scaled classroom where interactive discussions bring together theory and practice.
Media, Culture & Society graduates are prepared to work in the media, as well as in the wide range of profit and non-profit organisations increasingly reliant on media work. Alternatively, many graduates successfully opt for an academic or research career.

You hold a university Bachelor's degree in the social sciences or the humanities. Applicants for Media & Business with a BSc in Business Administration are also admissible.

- TOEFL (www.ets.org/toefl) (Test of English as a Foreign Language) with a minimum overall score of
100 in the internet based test,
250 in the computer-based test or
600 in the paper test.
- IELTS (International English Language Testing System) with a minimum score of 7.0 (www.ielts.org)
- CAE (Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English): grade B
- CPE (Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English): grade A or B
